Josh and Karen

What a happy day and beautiful wedding for the new Mr. & Mrs. Dahmen. I was lucky to be a witness to this event last Saturday at the Sleeping Lady in Leavenworth Washington. Karen is the daughter of our great friends Ruth and Randy Lowe of Wenatchee. It is almost like seeing my own daughter getting married as I've watched Karen grow from a little girl to a very beautiful and successful young lady. New husband Josh is one lucky dude I would say. Although we live out of the country, the welcome mat is always out for both of you at any time. The bottom picture of Julie, Brooke, Karen, and I was taken in Arizona 5 years ago.

Union Jack

Now that I've finished my work here for the summer, I can enjoy a few days before heading back to London. I raised the "Union Jack" on my flag pole for the first time to add a little more color to the skyline. I will miss the lake and my wonderful friends here. Bloody Good Place!

Landscape Finish

I just finished with my spring project at Lake Chelan. From the old to the new in 3 weeks and now I will take a day off. This job included 15 yards of top soil, sprinklers, landscape blocks and sod. I moved the fire pit to the back of the yard to protect my friends from flying golf balls and blasts from the potato cannon. The fire pit is essential to any home I build and is the most used part of this lake house. This work isn't anything new to me as a builder, but it doesn't ever seem to get any easier. Now I'm ready for summer.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all 0f the Dad's on this day. I had a great weekend in Arizona with my son Brent, his family, and daughter Brooke. I was a Dad and a Grand Dad both, and spent my time watching golf and getting waited on. Also I recognize Julie's parents, Levoy and Sylvia of East Wenatchee, who always shuttle me to and from the Wenatchee airport several times a year without any complaints. I couldn't manage without your help. Hat's off to all of us Dad's, our job is never done!

Royal Ascot

Here's Julie looking beautiful at The Royal Ascot races in England. This was Ladies Day last Friday and it might not have been much fun without me there. I believe this day was made for me. I'm here in Arizona for Father's Day with our children and the 105 degrees is an adjustment. I will head back to Chelan Washington tomorrow and finish my work there. Sometimes in life, you just can't be everywhere you need to be.

Dwight Yokam

Concert night in Lake Chelan, I finally get a night Out. Dwight Yokam was the star last night with Chance Mckinney n CrossWire to start the show. (bottom photo) The concert was at the new DeepWater Amphitheatre at the Mill Bay Casino in Manson. This was an outstanding show for us country music fans, and there is over a dozen more concerts scheduled here this summer. I saw Dwight Yokam and Wynonna Judd at the Gorge Amphitheatre about 12 years ago and I am still a fan. We don't get much country music in London so this was a bonus for me.

My Deer Friends

There isn't too much to blog about here on Lake Chelan. I'm getting a lot of work done but other than that it's darn quiet for a city dweller like me. These fuzzy friends of mine pay me a visit on occasion to nibble on my bushes and get a drink. I have had some quality time with family and friends but as always I look forward to getting back to my Bride in London.
